Poster for Campaign Against Nuclear Power Benefit, Brisbane 14 May 1982 Baroona Hall, Caxton St, Brisbane 14 May 1982

Campaign Against Nuclear Power (CANP) Benefit

The Pits, Les Bon Bons, This 5 Minutes, Kicks and ... The Black Assassins (uninvited)

Despite being the only band in town who had a specifically anti-uranium song Death Comes To Townsville, The Black Assassins' offer to play for free at this gig was rejected because the CANP didn’t appreciate the humour in our use of violent imagery. So we decided to play anyway and crashed the gig, throwing The Pits off stage towards the end of their set and taking over their instruments. We got to play two songs before the CANP cut the power to the PA.
