The
Black Assassins Last Stand
South’s
Leagues Club, Brisbane
The
Black Assassins, No Fixed Address, 3B2
The Black Assassins' farewell to Brisbane and the end of regular gigs
as half the band moved to Sydney. It featured guest appearances on
different songs by a range of other Brisbane musicians including
Bruce Anthon, Charlie Owen, Larry Ponting and John Willsteed singing on
our one-off cover of Judy Garland’s Zing Go The Strings Of My Heart.
This gig finished with the band being dragged off stage by people
dressed as police and turned into a theatrical fire-fight between the
band and the ‘police’ using flaming-ball-shooting fireworks over the
heads of the crowd and spilling out onto the verandah. Fortunately, no
one was seriously hurt and the building didn’t catch fire. Sorry about
the fireball on your cheek, Russell. See the review
of this gig.
